Spandrel glass is manufactured by spraying one side of top quality clear float glass, with a highly durable and resistant painted finish.
It is now possible to create a wonderful feeling of depth, space and light in your architectural design using large spans of coloured glass.
Painted glass offers a unique design character which is specifically used by creative architectural design.
Back painted glass is a unique use of glass that has been growing in popularity in recent years. It is essentially exactly what it sounds like- glass that has been painted on the back side. That way, from the front side, the glass is no longer translucent, but instead a solid colour. In a double-glazed unit the paint would be applied to surface four.
The applications for back painted glass vary widely and it is commonly used in both residential and commercial buildings.
Many buildings install back painted glass panels to break up large, plain walls and fill otherwise empty spaces.
Available in most RAL or BS colours. Our Spandrel Painted Glass can also be supplied with insulation backing to improve thermal performance.
Our automated paint spray system offers a perfect finish.
Spandrel panels are used in place of vision units in curtain walling systems, where it is necessary to hide the edges of floor slabs, ceiling details, insulation, and other building elements that would ruin the look of the building if they were exposed.
Spandrel Panels can be supplied with or without insulation fixed to face four.
Spandrel Panels are not designed to be viewed in transmitted light, they must be used against a back up wall.
